Ageing Research Online (ARO)
What is the Ageing Research Online (ARO)?
Ageing Research Online responds to a recognised need to improve communication and collaboration between researchers in ageing from the tertiary, government, non-government and private sectors as well as interested persons from consumer organisations and the public.
Ageing Research Online was established in 2003 under the Building Ageing Research Capacity (BARC) Project as a collaboration between the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
Ageing Research Online provides the following facilities:
-
A register to upload information on recent, current and proposed research projects as well as details on available courses of study, grants and scholarships;
-
A way of finding out about the work of other researchers, research centres and new and emerging research fields;
-
Access to information about data availability and publications as well as contact details, references and associated resources;
-
Access to the Australian Research Grant and Literature Inventory on Ageing which is a Network sponsored database identifying all ageing-related grants and publications between 1999-2005;
-
A review of policy developments and publications such as the Australian Ageing Research Agenda; and
-
